Beryl’s Vase

A commission in 2016 to mend a broken lidded vessel made by the owner’s daughter created whilst at art college. Arriving beautifully packaged and meticulously audited, it took time to fully understand the distinctive form. To preserve the wonderful surface pattern, the shards were photographed and the pattern rebuilt digitally before being printed on silk. This enabled me to position the pattern in relation to shard shapes and rebuild the vessel retaining the feel of the original statement.
